It is not possible

to take a day boat cruise on the Rhine River from Cologne (Koln) to Koblenz or back, as there are no day cruises between Linz am Rhein and Koblenz.

Day round boat cruise from Cologne (Koln):

It is possible to take a day boat trip from Cologne along Bonn to Königswinter.
In Konigswinter you can take the cog railway up to Rhine hills with the Drachenfels Ruine and back down into the Rhine River valley.
You can then travel back with the boat to Cologne on the same day.
